In our newest release, Snupps has had a bit of a makeover. In fact, whether you use Snupps in its app or web form, you’ll see that things are now rather different - and better than ever before.
You’ll find that the new profile layout and the improved search function, among other new features, make our new version even quicker, sleeker and more social than ever before.
Read on to learn about the most significant and exciting changes in the new version of the iOS app.
Changes to Add Item
We’ve listened to your feedback and developed a new, efficient way to upload multiple items - now you can upload them all in one go!
Do this by selecting ‘Add Multiple Items’ after pressing the big orange button. Then if you take a number of photos, these will appear in ‘Unshelved Items.’ You can then drag-and-drop these onto your shelves to the right of your screen and edit their details later. Magic!
To add one item at a time, you still press the big orange ‘Add’ button at the bottom of the screen, select ‘Add Item’, take a photo or grab one from your camera roll, put it on a shelf and add details.
Bye Bye Burger
Another of the biggest changes in Version 2.0 is that we’ve got rid of the menu that used to float in and out on the left-hand side of the screen. (Visible in the ‘Before’ image at the top of this blog and known to techies as a ‘Hamburger’ menu, though it’s undeniably nowhere near as delicious as its namesake.)
This used to be how you got to your Shelves, accessed your Settings and saw your Notifications. But we’ve now removed this menu in order to declutter the screen. Here’s where to find things:
Shelves: you can now find and edit these under 'My Stuff’ (these new tabs and buttons are detailed in the next section)
Notifications: the little notification bell now appears in the top-left when you select the ‘News’ page
Settings: these used to be accessed by three cogs on your Hamburger menu, but it’s now just one little cog in the right-hand corner of the ‘Me’ page
There’s no place like home
In previous versions, when you first loaded up the app you were met with your own shelves. Now when you first sign in you’ll be greeted by a newsfeed of recent activity of the users and shelves that you follow, which you can comment on and ‘wow’.
So to view your own profile, you now just need to select the ‘Me’ button at the bottom of the screen. This allows you to view your profile as other Snupps users see it.
To edit your shelves, you’ll need to choose the ‘My Stuff’ button to the left of the ‘Me’ button. But the rest of this process remains much the same, and you can still add items directly by pressing that orange button.
We’ve also removed LinkedIn social login, improved the sharing of items and shelves to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and enhanced support for the latest Apple devices.
And, as always, there are more improvements on their way. We’ll keep you posted.
